10 Day Trip to Philippines to perform cleft lip and cleft palate surgery on unfortunate children

Dr Hodges is leaving on April 15 for a 10 day trip to the Philippines to perform cleft lip and cleft palate surgery on these unfortunate children who can not have the surgery done otherwise. There is government health care in the Philippines but patients entering the hospital have to buy their own medicine and food while in the hospital which is usually many miles from their home.

John M. Hodges, M.D., F.A.C.S.

John M. “Mac” Hodges, M.D., F.A.C.S. received his medical degree in 1963 from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. After his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at UT Memphis, Dr. Hodges completed a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.

He is board certified by The American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and The American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Hodges is a fellow of The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, The American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery, The Triological Society, and the American College of Surgeons.


He is a clinical professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at UT Memphis and is a former chairman of the department. Dr. Hodges has presented many papers to various professional organizations and is well published. Dr. Hodges also leads medical missions to third world countries and is active in Face-to-Face, a humanitarian outreach program sponsored by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
